8 Million USD is the figure Jake Paul has set to fight Conor McGregor.

Jake Paul hopes for a rematch with Tommy Fury may have vanished as the English fighter turns his attention toward Conor McGregor.

Their First Encounter in Saudi Arabia

Jake Paul, 27, faced Tyson Fury’s half-brother at Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia, losing by a narrow split decision in favor of Tommy. To date, that remains the only blemish on Paul’s professional record, now at 11-1 following his most recent victory over Mike Tyson last November. The Problem Child, who only turned pro in 2020, has built a remarkable boxing career over five years by defeating numerous influencers, prominent UFC stars, and other sports personalities. However, he’s eager to avenge his loss to Fury and has been vocal about wanting one more dance with the Englishman in the future.

Fury’s Take on a Possible Rematch

Last year, Fury took to Instagram, announcing he was ready to discuss “serious numbers” for a rematch with Paul, stating in a video:

“I’ve already beaten you once; I handed you your first loss. As soon as you stepped in with a real boxer, you lost fair and square.”
He added:
“I can give you a second loss, no problem. But let’s talk some serious numbers on the phone.”

In a separate interview, Fury emphasized that a rematch with Paul was “inevitable.” Speaking with ESPN, the 25-year-old boxer said he’d accept a second clash with Paul “straight away,” adding, “At the end of the day, I think me and him are definitely set. He’s got one loss, and it’s to me, so it’s inevitable we get back in there. I know I’m going to be a better boxer, and from the [fights] he’s been in and what he’s doing, I’m not sure if he’s improving that much.”

Paul’s Conditions for a 12-Round Rematch

Meanwhile, Paul has admitted he’d also be open to a rematch with Fury, but only if the fight extends to 12 rounds, instead of the eight rounds in their first encounter. Commenting on social media about a potential second bout, Paul wrote, “Only if it’s 12 rounds,” implying that an extra 12 minutes in the ring might change the outcome of their initial showdown. He also asserts that Fury was offered $8 million to fight him instead of Tyson in their lavish November event on Netflix.

$8 Million Offer and Fury’s Rejection

In a now-deleted post on X, Paul wrote:

“Offered Fury $8 million to fight on Netflix. He turned it down and now fights an MMA fighter… So tell me who’s running? A stupid kid controlled by his dad, protected from the inevitable.”

However, any hope of a near-future rematch appears dashed, as Fury recently expressed interest in facing two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor in his next major boxing showdown.

Fury Challenges Conor McGregor

In his post on X, Fury wrote:

“@TheNotoriousMMA don’t waste your time with beaten fighters. Fight the one who’s beaten them all and still has 0. I’ll wait…”

He added a phone emoji—just hours after YouTuber KSI declared he “would love to” step in and fight McGregor, amid rumors that the Irishman’s proposed bout with Logan Paul had fallen through.

Fury’s Plans for 2025

Fury hasn’t fought since his unanimous decision win over KSI in October 2023 and appears eager to make 2025 a busier year. He was initially slated to meet former UFC star Darren Till under the Misfits Boxing banner on January 18 but withdrew after the Liverpudlian threatened to break the sport’s rules and even “kick Fury in the head.”
