Introducing the 2024 All Main Line Women is Volleyball Team

First Team Roster: Shining Stars

In the fall of 2024, the landscape of high school girls’ volleyball at Main Line became electrified with outstanding performances from various teams. Notably, the Notre Dame Academy stood out with an impressive 18-5 overall record, 10-0 in the Inter-Ac league, and their tenth PAISAA state championship in the past eleven years.

The All-Main Line women’s volleyball team was selected by coaches from 19 high schools, creating an impressive lineup for this season. The 2024 All-Main Line team combines talented athletes, each having delivered remarkable achievements during the past season. Here are the standout names in the starting lineup:

• Vikki Zelubowski, Notre Dame Academy: A seasoned outside hitter and team captain, Vikki Zelubowski has proven to be one of the top players on the team. She was previously named to the First All-Around Team and was the Inter-Ac Player of the Year. With 240 kills and 41 aces, Zelubowski led her team, Ireland, to multiple successes.

• Kayla Edginton, Notre Dame Academy: Third-year middle blocker, Kayla Edginton is a key player for the team. She was selected to the First All-Inter-Ac and All-Main Line teams, leading her PAISAA state championship team with a.475 hitting percentage. Edginton set a season record with 143 blocks, along with 146 kills and 38 aces.

• Priya Johnson-Agnes Irwin: Veteran setter/right-side hitter Priya Johnson is the second-year team co-captain for Agnes Irwin. She has accumulated 786 assists and an impressive serving percentage of .811, showcasing her excellence in her position. Johnson has generated many scoring opportunities, significantly contributing to her team’s success.

• Grace Plechner, Archbishop Carroll: A veteran setter, Grace Plechner is among the best players at Archbishop Carroll. She has been selected to the National Catholic League for the fourth time and leads the Patriots in assists. With over 1,000 assists in her career, Plechner has solidified her position within the team.

• Anya Berlanska, Baldwin School: Senior libero Anya Berlanska earned a spot on the All-Inter-Ac First Team. As the team MVP for the Polar Bears, she recorded 266 digs, 42 aces, and 43 assists. Berlanska is a key defensive asset for her team.

• Cheyenne Bird, Conestoga High School: Veteran setter/right-side hitter Cheyenne Bird had an impressive season at Conestoga. She was named to the All-Mid-Central League First Team and was the MVP for the Pioneers. Bird led the team in kills, aces, and hitting percentage, adding 258 assists, 46 blocks, and 172 digs.

• Abby Crowley, Haverford High School: A middle blocker and team captain, Abby Crowley earned a place on the First-Team All-Central League. She is the team’s best defensive player, known for her durability, aggressiveness, and leadership. Crowley exhibited excellent teamwork and individual skills throughout the season.

• Taylor Rosseel, Haverford High School: Senior setter and team captain, Taylor Rosseel, demonstrated smart and strategic offensive management. She accumulated over 1,000 assists in her career at Ford, solidifying her key role in the team. Rosseel is one of the team’s pillars, capable of creating scoring opportunities for her teammates.

• Maddie Bash, Villa Maria Academy: Middle blocker Maddie Bash was named to the AACA First Team and was the MVP for the Hurricanes. She had an all-around excellent season, including 90 kills and many important blocks. Bash was one of the standout players for Villa Maria Academy.
