Mike Tyson Has Not Fully Recovered from Controversial Defeat After the Loss to Jake Paul
Boxing legend Mike Tyson has revealed that he has not yet fully recovered from his loss to Jake Paul, shedding light on how age has impacted the 58-year-old icon.
Nearly two months ago, Tyson stepped into the ring against Jake Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer nearly 30 years younger than him. The fight broke viewership records but was also surrounded by allegations of match-fixing. Despite his best efforts, Tyson struggled significantly against his younger, more energetic opponent.
Speaking to the New York Post, Tyson admitted:
“I don’t know if I’m 100% recovered yet, but I feel pretty good.”
Tyson Plans to Train Again, But Not for a Comeback
Although he hasn’t fully regained his physical condition, Mike Tyson is eager to return to training.
“I might start training again next month,” he shared. However, the boxing legend made it clear this is not a sign of a comeback.
“I just want to stay in shape,” Tyson explained.
Previously, “Iron Mike” shocked fans by admitting that he lost memory of his fight against Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Texas.
“I don’t remember the fight very well; it’s a bit hazy,” Tyson told Fox Sports Radio in December 2024.
“I only remember the first round, and then Jake did something… but I don’t recall exactly what he did.” (Tyson mimicked Paul’s movement). “That’s the last thing I remember.”
A Defining Fight After 20 Years Away from the Ring
The fight against Jake Paul was not only controversial but also marked Tyson’s first professional bout in 20 years. The event had been delayed for months due to his health concerns.
Though age has taken its toll, Mike Tyson remains an immortal icon in the boxing world, with a warrior spirit that continues to inspire fans.
