The announcement, made on Friday, has excited swimming fans worldwide. On the show, Adrian will face grueling challenges alongside 16 other celebrities, mirroring the real-life training undergone by U.S. Special Forces recruits. This opportunity showcases Adrian’s versatility beyond the swimming pool.

Premiere Date and Star-Studded Cast

The third season of Special Forces will premiere on January 8 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Contestants will endure intense trials led by a team of veteran special forces operatives. Alongside Nathan Adrian, the cast includes notable names such as Denise Richards, Stephen Baldwin, Brody Jenner, and Cam Newton. The star-studded lineup promises to deliver an exciting and challenging viewing experience.

Rigorous Challenges Without Eliminations

Unlike many other reality shows, Special Forces does not feature a traditional elimination system. Participants can withdraw voluntarily or for medical reasons. Over the first two seasons, only five individuals—Hannah Brown, Carli Lloyd, Tyler Cameron, Erin Jackson, and Nick Viall—managed to complete the challenges, underscoring the show’s demanding nature and the high level of physical and mental endurance required.

An Unforgettable Adventure

Adrian shared a teaser for the third season on Instagram, describing the filming experience in May as “an adventure of a lifetime.” Each season of Special Forces is filmed in a new location, with the upcoming installment set in Wales, home to the British Special Forces selection program. This unique setting will add to the intensity of the challenges faced by the contestants.

Challenges on Land and Sea

According to Deadline, participants will face extreme trials both on land and at sea. These include a high-stakes hostage rescue under immense pressure, scaling perilous cliffs, navigating boat dives, and tackling wave-riding challenges in harsh conditions. The variety of challenges ensures that contestants must be well-rounded in their skills and adaptability.

Nathan Adrian’s Remarkable Achievements

Nathan Adrian has won a total of seven Olympic medals across three Games from 2008 to 2016, including a gold medal in the 100m freestyle at the London 2012 Olympics. His last national swimming competition was at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials, where he finished third in the 50m freestyle. With his impressive career and willingness to embrace tough new challenges, Nathan Adrian continues to prove his versatility beyond the pool.
