Mike Tyson and Jake Paul Ordered to Take a Break from Boxing
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have been mandated to take at least a one-month break from boxing following their heavyweight bout on November 15 in Arlington, Texas. This decision, issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, aims to ensure the fighters’ health and safety.
Medical Suspension Rules for Fighters
According to regulations, fighters must rest for at least seven days after any match. This mandatory break is extended by three days for every round fought. In cases of knock-out, the break increases by an additional 60 days to allow for proper recovery.
“The suspension of a fighter’s license is for their own safety and can be enacted based on recommendations from a physician or the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation,” the rules state. Fighters who disagree with the imposed medical suspension can request a hearing to demonstrate their ability to compete.

Controversy Surrounding the Fight

Mike Tyson’s Return with Determination
This marked Mike Tyson’s first return to the ring since his exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which ended in a draw. Despite the loss, Tyson’s dedication earned him praise from his trainer, Rafael Cordeiro, who revealed that Tyson trained diligently for seven months.
“Tyson never gives up,” Cordeiro said. “We are proud of his commitment to training, which inspires many people beyond the ring. The most important thing is that Tyson will return home safely to his loved ones.”
This fight highlighted the enduring legacy of Mike Tyson, a boxing legend, while also showcasing Jake Paul’s growing reputation as a rising star in the sport.
