Anthony Joshua mysteriously missing, Daniel Dubois keeps mocking

All eyes are on Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia ahead of their long-awaited rematch, which will air live on TNT Sports Box Office. However, Daniel Dubois has his sights set elsewhere, specifically on Anthony Joshua, after defeating his fellow Brit to claim the IBF heavyweight title in September. Dubois also shared his thoughts on a potential future bout with the winner of Usyk vs. Fury 2.
Dubois Calls Out Joshua After IBF Title Win
Dubois, speaking in Riyadh ahead of Saturday’s highly anticipated rematch between Usyk and Fury, boldly claimed that Joshua has “gone missing” and that he has effectively been placed in a “nursing home.”
A rematch between Dubois and Joshua had been anticipated for February, but it appears that Joshua’s fitness concerns have kept him out of the ring.
“People are always talking about AJ, but where is he?” Dubois remarked during an interview with The Mirror. “I can’t find him. Where is he? I think I’ve put him in a nursing home.”
Dubois did not hold back, addressing the relentless chatter surrounding Joshua’s past successes: “There’s so much talk about AJ, and people keep making excuses for him and his losses. It’s time people started celebrating the new king.”
The IBF heavyweight champion went even further, comparing Joshua’s current state to a national tragedy: “It’s like people are mourning a death, with the whole country in grief. I don’t know if others see it, but I certainly do.”
Future Fights: Parker, Usyk, and Fury
While Dubois prepares for his upcoming fight against Joseph Parker in Riyadh on February 22, his ambitions stretch far beyond Parker. He has set his sights on another potential clash with Oleksandr Usyk, who knocked him out in Poland last year, and even a showdown with Tyson Fury.
“I want to fight Usyk to get my revenge,” Dubois declared. “I want to set the record straight.”
Dubois also welcomed the idea of a bout against Fury: “I’ll fight Fury too, no problem. I’m not here to play games; I’m here to fight for greatness.”
The 26-year-old emphasized his desire to challenge the very best: “I want to fight the winner of Usyk vs. Fury—that’s why I’m here. If you’re good enough to defend your undefeated streak, good for you. But not everyone is capable of achieving what Floyd Mayweather did.”
Dubois’ Vision for Boxing’s Future
Dubois reflected on his career trajectory and embraced his role as a comeback king: “I love a good comeback story. It’s time for the younger guns to step up and show who we are. I’ve got the title; I’m the king, and I’ll keep it that way.”
He didn’t mince words about his aspirations: “I want to send all these guys packing and prove I’m the top dog. That would be an incredible feeling.”
As Dubois plots his next move, the boxing world’s focus remains firmly on Usyk and Fury, who are set to clash in one of the most anticipated fights of the year in Saudi Arabia. Will Dubois have his moment against the winner, or will his feud with Joshua reignite? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: Daniel Dubois is not backing down.
