Daniel Dubois is struggling to find Anthony Joshua after his brutal KO

Daniel Dubois isn’t holding back when it comes to taking jabs at Anthony Joshua. Since their fight in September, where Dubois delivered a brutal knockout to Joshua, the IBF heavyweight champion has been poking fun at his former opponent’s apparent absence from the spotlight.
“Everyone always talks about AJ, but where is he?” Dubois quipped with a mischievous grin. “I can’t find him. Where is he? I think I’ve sent him to a retirement home.” Speaking from Saudi Arabia, where he’s preparing to watch the highly anticipated rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury at Kingdom Arena, Dubois seemed in high spirits, cracking jokes and displaying his trademark wit.
Spending His Winnings in Style
Dubois wasn’t just joking about Joshua. He also talked about what he plans to do with the money earned from defending his IBF title against AJ. And in true Dubois fashion, the ideas were extravagant and unconventional.
“I’m thinking about buying a helicopter,” he said. “But my garden isn’t big enough to land it, and I’ll need a few lessons first. I’ve been looking into it. I also want a Ferrari, but they’re too small. They’re made for little Italian guys—I’ll never fit into one.”
But behind the humor lies a serious undertone. Dubois feels his victory over Joshua hasn’t received the recognition it deserves. The Londoner, who rebuilt his career after an early loss to Joe Joyce and a controversial defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, believes his accomplishments are being overshadowed.
Dubois: “Celebrate the New King!”
“All this talk about AJ, and people keep making excuses for his loss,” Dubois said, exasperated. “It’s time people start celebrating the new king. I keep seeing everyone mourning the loss of AJ instead of celebrating me, the new champion. It’s like someone died, and the country is in mourning. I don’t know if others see it, but I do.”
Rumors of an immediate rematch swirled in the hours following Dubois’s fifth-round knockout of Joshua at Wembley Stadium. However, Joshua pulled out of a February 22 bout, citing concerns over his fitness for such a quick turnaround. Instead, Dubois will face former WBO champion Joseph Parker on the same date in Riyadh. Parker, now fully recovered, presents a new challenge for Dubois, but the IBF champion is more focused on what lies ahead.
Is Fury vs. Joshua in the Cards?
One possible reason for Joshua’s absence from the February rematch could be the rumors of a year-end showdown with Tyson Fury. Dubois isn’t fazed. His eyes are firmly set on solidifying his legacy, whether it’s through another victory over AJ or taking on other top heavyweights.
For now, Dubois is content to bask in his current reign while aiming for more glory. And while Joshua may be missing from the immediate picture, Dubois’s star continues to rise, with his bold personality and unrelenting determination keeping him firmly in the spotlight.
