Emma Raducanu has expressed optimism for the 2025 tennis season after her recent performances in the Billie Jean King Cup, where she showcased strong form despite an ongoing battle with injuries. The 2021 US Open champion reflected on her achievements and the challenges she’s overcome since her breakthrough victory.

Raducanu’s Resilience and Ranking Achievement

Currently ranked No. 58 in the world, Raducanu pointed out that despite playing fewer than 15 tournaments in 2024, she remains in the top 60—a testament to her resilience. She noted that being ranked so highly while dealing with injuries and coaching changes is a significant achievement. “I have to pat myself on the back for that,” Raducanu said. She also emphasized that she knows she’s a dangerous player, and no one would want to face her in a tournament draw.

Excitement for 2025 and Focus on Improvement

Looking ahead, Raducanu is excited about the future and the chance to extend her playing time in 2025. She explained, “I’m excited and just itchy to get on the practice court,” highlighting her eagerness to continue improving after competing for Great Britain this week. Despite taking some time off, she feels motivated by her recent performances and is determined to make the most of her preparation for the Australian Open in January.

Confidence Heading into Upcoming BJK Cup Semifinal

Raducanu’s confidence is also apparent in her approach to the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup semifinal against Slovakia. Having fought hard against tough opponents like Jule Niemeier and Rebecca Marino, she is prepared for the challenges ahead. Raducanu acknowledges the strength of her potential opponents, stating, “I’m really pleased with how I fought and how I’m faring up against these top girls. I feel like I’m in a pretty good spot with my tennis right now.”
