FCV and the Data Volley Training Program
The Cape Verde Volleyball Federation (FCV) has officially announced the organization of a data volleyball training program in São Vicente from February 5 to February 11. This initiative aims to enhance coaching proficiency and game analysis within Cape Verde’s volleyball community.
Details of the Training Program
This week-long training will be conducted by Hugo Silva, the head coach of Portugal’s national women’s team, alongside scout João Campos. The sessions are scheduled from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily, equipping coaches and scouts with the necessary skills to effectively utilize the Data Volley software.
Objectives of the Training Program
The program aims to attract 24 participants from various volleyball associations across Cape Verde. These participants include coaches from senior men’s and women’s teams as well as under-17 teams. The training will provide them with tools to revolutionize their teams’ playing dynamics.
Importance of the Data Volley Software
Data Volley software is designed for game observation and analysis, offering real-time statistical insights to coaches. FCV President António Rodrigues explained that the software leverages match footage recorded by a courtside camera, giving coaches in-depth insights into team performance.
Enhancing Coaching Efficiency
Rodrigues believes the introduction of Data Volley will significantly improve volleyball coaching efficiency in Cape Verde. This initiative represents not just a technological advancement but also a pivotal step toward elevating the quality of teams across the island nation.
Collaborative Analysis for Tactical Refinement
The Data Volley software facilitates comprehensive game analysis through close collaboration between scouts and coaches. By interpreting data together, they can provide actionable insights to adjust strategies during matches effectively.
Long-Standing Aspirations of Cape Verdean Coaches
Rodrigues emphasized that the Data Volley project has been a long-time aspiration of Cape Verdean coaches. Adopting this technology is expected to enhance their technical and analytical capabilities, ultimately improving team performance.
Real-World Example from the National Team
He cited a recent match between Cape Verde’s national women’s team and Senegal. Although Cape Verde initially led, Senegal adjusted its strategy in the third and fourth sets using insights from their scout. This example highlights how data analysis can influence match outcomes.
Focus on Optimal Results
The Data Volley training program will not only teach how the software operates but also focus on achieving optimal results through its use. Coaches will be guided on maximizing the tool’s potential and refining strategies for various match situations.
