George Kambosos Jnr, the former lightweight champion, has signed a major co-promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing, DiBella Entertainment, and his own Ferocious Promotions. The Australian star is set to move up to the junior welterweight division and aims to make his return in early 2025, pursuing a second world title.

Kambosos gained global attention in November 2021 with a shocking upset against Teofimo Lopez Jnr at Madison Square Garden, capturing the unified lightweight titles. However, his reign ended in June 2022, losing the belts to Devin Haney in Melbourne, Australia, and again in their rematch later that year.
In 2023, Kambosos secured a contentious majority decision win over Maxi Hughes in Oklahoma but faced a major setback in May, when he was stopped by Vasiliy Lomachenko for a vacant title at RAC Arena in Perth. Hearn hinted at an exciting potential matchup between Kambosos and fellow Australian star Liam Paro, provided Paro wins his fight on December 7.
