Antonio Tarver Praises Jake Paul
In an interview on the ‘3 Knockdown Rule’ podcast, former unified light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver shared his positive views on Jake Paul. Known as the ‘Magic Man’, Tarver commended Paul’s ability to draw attention to boxing:
“What Jake Paul is doing right now is extraordinary. The attention and support he’s getting are incredible.”
Tarver also highlighted the ways Jake Paul and his partner, Nakisa Bidarian, are supporting other boxers, such as helping Amanda Serrano become the highest-paid female boxer in her rematch against Katie Taylor.
Assessing Skills and Dedication
While acknowledging that Jake Paul’s skills fall far short of professional boxers, Tarver praised his energy and dedication. In 2024, Jake Paul fought three times, which Tarver noted helps him maintain sharpness and improve his craft. He added that in terms of work ethic and commitment, Jake Paul surpasses many professional boxers.
Two other experts, Mario Lopez and Steve Kim, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that Paul’s frequent fights demonstrate his seriousness about the sport.

Antonio Tarver also criticized the backlash against Jake Paul, labeling it as “blind hatred.” He argued that the criticism is unfair to a boxer who is making an effort to grow and bring attention to the sport.
