For the first time, Marc Marquez addressed the press as a Ducati Lenovo rider. However, due to his presence at the event being tied to Estrella Galicia, one of his sponsors, he couldn’t delve deeply into the Ducati chapter. Starting next year, Marquez will officially take on the role of a primary rider for the iconic team.

From Darkness to Light: A Reflective Year for Marc Marquez

After several challenging years marred by injuries, Marquez reflected on a brighter 2024:

“It’s time for a video of smiles. We’ve had four years of videos featuring broken bones. Injuries are a reality for athletes, but by our very DNA, we’re not ones to settle—we always want more. The body is intelligent; it remembers injuries but adapts. This year has been about progress and preparing for 2025.”

Marquez expressed gratitude toward his 2024 team, which helped him rediscover his form:
“I told Gresini that we didn’t win any titles, but this year, I gained something even more valuable—I found myself and extended my career. The doubts that haunted me have been resolved positively. Now, my goal is to carry forward this happiness because if you’re happy, you’re faster.”

Ready for a New Challenge with Ducati

Speaking on his readiness for 2025, Marquez showed confidence in his new setup:
“The key questions I had for this year were answered positively. I still have the competitiveness needed, which was the biggest concern. Now, I’ll have the best bike on the grid, the best weapon to fight for another title. Let’s see what I can do.”

Although he admitted he didn’t win a championship in 2024, Marquez felt he achieved significant personal victories:
“At a personal level, I’ve won much more this year. Looking back, I can’t believe I once considered quitting—though in my circumstances, it was understandable. For 2025, I’ll focus on enjoying the ride, because happiness leads to speed.”

During a test in Barcelona, he revealed insights about adapting to Ducati’s GP bikes:
“The first day with a new team is all about connecting with people. For GP25, both Pecco Bagnaia and I found similar strengths and challenges. From GP23 to 24, there’s progress, but GP25 is another step forward. My feedback aligns with my teammate’s, which is fortunate for the factory.”

Goals for 2025: Fighting for the Championship

With his sights set on reclaiming his dominance, Marquez confidently stated:
“My goal is a full preseason where I can prepare physically. Naturally, I want to fight for the title. That’s why I’m on the best bike and with the best team. I have all the tools to win the title; now it’s up to me.”

He praised Ducati’s leadership, particularly Gigi Dall’Igna:
“Gigi is the best leader for me. There are many engineers—some better, some worse—but leadership is what truly matters.”

Ducati vs. Honda: Learning from the Differences

When asked about the contrasting cultures between his former and current teams, Marquez noted significant distinctions:
“You start to understand why Ducati is where it is today. Life is action-reaction. On Tuesday night at 11 PM, I received a message outlining the direction we’d take—something I’d never experienced before.”

A Season of New Beginnings and High Hopes

Marquez concluded with optimism about his future at Ducati:
“For 2025, the only plan is to achieve my goals quickly. We’re in MotoGP, where my teammate won 11 races last season. It’s tough, but that’s the reality we face. I’m ready to fight for what’s ahead.”

With his competitive spirit reignited and a new chapter at Ducati underway, Marc Marquez is poised for what could be one of the most significant comebacks in MotoGP history.
