However, just before the scheduled fight in July, Tyson suffered a serious health setback due to a bleeding ulcer during a flight, forcing the match to be postponed. Despite warnings from doctors about the risks, the fight was rescheduled for November. But once inside the ring, it became evident that age and health issues had significantly impacted Tyson’s performance.

Tyson Feared Legal Consequences

In a recent interview with Fox Nation, Mike Tyson revealed the real reason he continued with the fight despite his poor health.

“I was worried about getting sued. I thought, ‘God, they’re going to sue me if I don’t do this fight,’” Tyson admitted.

The boxing legend also disclosed the severity of his medical condition, revealing that his ulcer was bleeding so heavily that he required 10 blood transfusions to stay stable.

“I had a bleeding ulcer, about three inches long. It was constantly bleeding. I had to get 10 blood transfusions,” Tyson said.

Contractual Pressures and Physical Pain

Despite enduring excruciating pain, Tyson felt bound by his contract and feared potential lawsuits if he withdrew from the fight.

“Every time I do this, it reminds me of my fight with Roy Jones. My wife saw me screaming in pain. When I got home, I told myself I would never do this to myself again,” Tyson confessed.
