Movsar Evloev deserves UFC Featherweight Title shot over Alexander Volkanovski

Undefeated Movsar Evloev has his eyes firmly set on a UFC title shot, and he’s ready to prove that the time for legends like Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway has passed. As he prepares for his highly anticipated fight with Aljamain Sterling at UFC 310, Evloev is confident that he deserves the opportunity to challenge Ilia Topuria for the featherweight title.

“Fresh Blood” in the Featherweight Division

Evloev is eager to usher in a new era for the featherweight division. Despite the accomplishments of fighters like Volkanovski and Holloway, Evloev feels it’s time for a fresh face to take the reins.

“Volkanovski’s a legend, but he’s done,” Evloev said. “Max Holloway too. They’ve had their time, but now it’s about the fresh blood.”

With an undefeated record of 18-0 and eight straight victories in the UFC, Evloev believes he’s the next fighter to challenge for the featherweight title. His dominant performances have earned him a place at the top, and he’s ready to prove it.

The Pressure to Finish

While Evloev has faced criticism for his lack of finishes, he remains unfazed by the pressure. His last finish came in 2018, but he’s confident in his skills and readiness for a dominant performance.

“Everybody talks about finishes,” he said. “OK, if you need a finish, try to finish me.”

Evloev’s mindset for his fight with Sterling is clear: he’s prepared to show the MMA world what he’s capable of. With nearly a year of preparation, he plans to demonstrate his growth and the results of his hard work in the octagon.

Staying Active: Evloev’s Urgency

At 30 years old, Evloev knows that time is of essence. Though he’s determined to secure a title shot, staying active and competing frequently is a top priority. After his victory over Arnold Allen at UFC 297, he’s ready to keep his momentum going.

“If they don’t let me fight for the title, give me someone else in two months,” Evloev said. “I need more fights. Your time will go, so it’s good for my career.”

He’s open to facing other top contenders like Diego Lopes, Volkanovski, or Holloway, if necessary, to stay in the mix. For Evloev, staying active and continuing to fight is key to keeping his championship dreams alive.

Prelims or Main Card?

One of the talking points leading up to UFC 310 is Evloev’s placement on the preliminary card. Despite the debate surrounding this decision, Evloev is undeterred. He’s more focused on the fight than the location on the card.

“I think we’re on prelims because of [Sterling], but I don’t care,” Evloev said. “Same money, same fight. Maybe even better because more people will watch.”

Evloev’s mindset is simple: when the cage door closes, he focuses solely on his opponent, regardless of the setting. His fans will support him, no matter where he’s fighting.

Movsar Evloev’s Case for the Title

As Movsar Evloev prepares for his showdown with Aljamain Sterling at UFC 310, he’s making a strong case for his title shot in the featherweight division. With his undefeated record, dedication to staying active, and belief in the “fresh blood” of the division, Evloev feels his time is now.

While Volkanovski and Holloway have had legendary careers, Evloev is confident that the featherweight division needs new leadership. Whether through an exciting finish or another dominant victory, he’s ready to prove he belongs at the top of the UFC’s featherweight division.
