Robinson Chirinos: The New Bench Coach
Robinson Chirinos has been officially named bench coach for the Baltimore Orioles , replacing Fredi González under the leadership of coach Brandon Hyde . With 11 seasons of professional playing experience, Chirinos is expected to bring valuable contributions to the team.
Chirinos’s Incredible Career
At age 40 , Chirinos retired in 2022 with the Orioles. In 714 games , he batted .226, recorded 95 home runs and 306 RBIs , playing for teams such as Tampa Bay , Texas , Houston , New York Mets , Chicago Cubs , and finally Baltimore . His extensive experience will certainly be an important asset in a coaching role.
Fredi González: End of an Era
Fredi González spent five seasons with the Orioles, the last three of which he served as bench coach . He previously managed the Florida Marlins from 2007 to 2010 and the Atlanta Braves from 2011 to 2016 , bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
Challenges Under Brandon Hyde
Under manager Brandon Hyde , the Orioles had a challenging season, finishing second in the AL East with a 91-71 record .
